The american pop-punk trio, Blink 182, was formed in 1992, in Poway, California, a suburb of San Diego.

The band was started by Tom DeLonge, in 1993. Shortly after that, Mark Hoppus and Scott Raynor also joined the band. Initially, the band’s name was Blink, however because of similarities with an Irish band, they were forced to change their name to Blink 182.

The band members earned their fame because of the million of albums sold, concerts but also videos, the Blink 182 band becoming famous especially because of the simple humor or the songs that were very catchy to the public.

The band is known for songs like “Dammmit”, “What’s My Age Again?”, “All The Small Things”, “Adam’s Song”, “Stay Together for the Kids”, “Feeling This” sau “I Miss You”. In 1994, Blink 182 signed a contract with Cargo Music. In three days they released their debut album, Cheshire Cat, which made them reached the top positions in the US tops. The album contained old songs, like Carousel, Strings and Sometimes, but also new songs. After their debut album, the band released “Buddha Promo” a promotional tape that was meant to prepare the release of the “Buddha” album. Blink 182 recorded in 1996, the Dude Ranch album, along with producer Mark Trombino, at the Caro Records studio, but it was released by MCA, Music Corporation of America, in 1998.

Shortly after the release of the album, drummer Scott Raynor left the band, being replaced by Travis Barker. They saw success with the 1999 album, Enema of the State, and after the release of this album they hired the producer Jerry Finn. ” Enema of the state” was sold in almost 8 million copies, which also became the band’s most successful album.

In 2000, Blink 182 released “The Urethra Chronicals” DVD that offered information from the backstage of the band. The american Trio successful continued their commercial run with the album “Take off your pants and Jacket” in 2001, released in 3 CD’s with different colors: red, yellow and green. In 2002 they were co-headliners of the Pop Disaster tour, along with Green Day.

On November 18, 2002, Blink 182 released a new album named “Blink 182″ and according to Baker, this symbolized a new spark of the band. The album contained some of the hits that were very much loved by the fans: Feeling This, I miss You, Always. The band practically fell apart at the beginning of 2005, claiming that they are taking a break. In april 2007, the inclusion of Blink 182 in the documentary One Nine Four was confirmed, along with Rancid and Green Day. The documentary, which was released in 2009, presented the punk scene at the beginning of the 90s.
