Multi-talented vocalist Craig Deegan began entertaining at an early age, entering Butlins talent competitions when he was just 4 years old. At High Pavement College in Nottingham he studied Drama at ĎAí level and performed leading roles in Pal Joey and The Boyfriend and had a musical, The Charleston Follies specially written to showcase his talents.
His professional training in musical theatre was accomplished at the Guildford School Of Acting where amongst his fellow pupils were Michael Ball and Liz Hurley. He also completed a post-graduate year in dance at the London Studio Centre.
Early professional engagements included backing vocals for Sir Elton John and Tina Turner and appearing in a Circus in Mexico. He was also the face of a billboard ad campaign in Turkey, which led to him being invited by the countryís Prime Minister to sing at an International Song Festival. His singing was so enjoyed by the Prime Minister of Malaysia that he awarded Craig a medal for his performances.
Craig has also appeared in many musicals, for example, as Brad in the national tour of The Rocky Horror Show; in the West End in The king and I and in the international tours of Chess, Evita, Hair, Me And My Girl, Phantom Of The Opera and Night After Night for which he was nominated for a Time Out award. That show was also broadcast on Radio 3 and for many years Craig was a regular guest on BBC Radio 2ís Friday Night Is Music Night.
Television appearances include The Brittas Empire, Londonís Burning and he wore Rowan Atkinsonís tonsure wig in a BBC documentary about Christopher Columbus.
He has also appeared on stage with, amongst others, Cilla Black, James Dreyfus, Sir John Gielgud, Patricia Hodge, Frankie Howerd, Maureen Lipman, Kate OíMara, Roger Lloyd Pack, Linda Robson and Sir Donald Sinden. Having choreographed some of his shows, Craig starred alongside and became a good friend of the late Danny La Rue.
After five years as a lead vocalist for P&O Cruises, Craig is happy to be back on home territory using his unique vocal skills to entertain his many fans on the club circuit
