Some Details...

The Detourz are a Leicestershire based band who cover a wide variety of hits from the 60s to present day. The Detourz are available to play corporate events, pubs, clubs, parties, weddings and themed events and come complete with P.A and lighting rig.

A set list would include Madness, Kings of Leon, The Fratellis, The Beat, Black Crowes, Stevie Wonder, Kool and the Gang, Elvis Costello, The Blues Brothers, The Jam, The Undertones, Bad Manners, Wild Cherry, Sam Cooke, Wilson Pickett, The Temptations, Sam & Dave, The O’Jays, Plan B, The Specials and of course Doctor and the Medics.

Jon - Bass/Backing Vocals Jon has been driving Doctor and the Medics along, best known for their number 1 hit ‘Spirit in the Sky’, with a unique pulsating bass which has helped to stamp his signature well and truly onto the Medics’ sound. With experience of playing to large lively festival audiences, the ever popular Butlins 80s weekends, and many TV appearances. Jon has bought his versatility home by forming The Detourz a covers band playing some of the liveliest and least expected ‘covers’ spanning seven decades and covering funk, soul, ska and rock.

Darren Taylor - Lead Vocals Darren has been singing in the UK and worldwide for a number of years making his name singing in clubs and holiday camps. He soon established himself as a leading act. Darren found his love of working with a band singing Blues Brothers and Commitments classics at clubs all over the UK . With an immensely adaptable voice and style Darren then formed his own band which wrote their own music and played at venues all over the UK, including the famous "Cavern" in Liverpool. Darren joined The Detourz in 2011 and hasn't looked back since.

Tony Kelly - Guitar/Backing Vocal Tony has been playing guitar for more years than he would care to admit too. He served his apprenticeship playing the working men’s clubs moving on to session work in various studios. Eventually Tony turned professional playing for the band Tai-Pan who were a massive success In Germany on the British Army bases. After returning to the UK and a couple of tribute bands later. Tony met Jon and bringing their experience together built the foundations of the eclectic mix of the The Detourz.
