Some Details...
Farnsfield Acoustic, an independant, non profit making music set up. 6 of us run this with a gig or sometimes two per month from Sept to May (inclusive). We are based mainly at Farnsfield Village Hall.. but use other venues in north Notts, depending on size of potential audience and availability. Our gigs tend to be of the folk/acoustic/roots variety with a local and not so local following. We are now in our 6th year of bringing this music to the area.
Most concerts take place at the FARNSFIELD VILLAGE CENTRE.
Farnsfield is just off the A614 Nottingham to Ollerton/Doncaster Road at the White Post Roundabout. New Hill is near the centre of the village opposite the paper shop and the Village Centre is on the left next door to the Library. Street parking is available around the venue. We don’t have a drinks license but you are very welcome to bring your own drinks and nibbles.
Our annual Christmas concerts with St Agnes Fountain take place at the THORESBY RIDING STABLES, On the A614 just north of Ollerton follow the signs for Thoresby Hall. Take the turn for Thoresby Gallery and Courtyard shops (NOT Thoresby Hall Hotel). Parking is available. The entrance to the Riding Hall is through the Courtyard. Please note that food and drink is not allowed in the Hall but food and drink is normally available from the adjoining Bay Tree Cafe.
Papplewick is just north of Hucknall and can be approached from the A60 via Forest Lane (the B6011) or from the A611, again via the B6011. The PAPPLEWICK & LINBY VILLAGE HALL is a purpose built building set back from the B6011 about 100 yards west of the crossroads in Papplewick Village. There is a large car park adjoining the Hall. We normally provide a full bar and the License Holder asks that you do not bring your own refreshments.
