Rock/Blues Band

Meet the band - Rob
Rob has been in bands for many years..
His first band was called Storm who played gigs all over the Midlands. The band featured Robin on the keyboards who played a Hammond organ which weighed a ton… Rob decided to quit the band when he couldn’t carry it up and down the stairs to gigs any more! He then joined Rough Mix who played the pubs and clubs around Nottingham: the Imperial Club, Gedling Miners Welfare to name a few.
Later he joined Long Eaton based Vulcan who played at venues all over the UK. His career was nearly cut short when he fell on stage at an open air gig in Westfield Park almost breaking his back.
Rob gave up singing for a long time but eventually his love of the blues brought him back and Fullcircle was born. He found some like minded musicians and the rest is history.
Rob has been compared to many artists over the years, Dan Mc Cafferty of Nazareth, Brian Johnson of AC/DC and Frankie Miller are some of them. The truth is Rob is unique, a one off. You will need to come and see the band live to find out why.

Mark
Mark has been playing the guitar since he was about fourteen. Over the years he has also learned to play the mandolin, banjo, harmonica and can keep time on the drums as well!! He’s had a long musical career too and has worked with some big names along the way. He played guitar with tribute bands Live Wire and the Commandments, and on the pub circuit with The Marketeers and the Soulburners. He has worked as a sound engineer for Blaze Bayley, the Hamsters, and Sack Sabbath amongst others. He has also played guitar alongside Mark Evans, who is currently playing drums in the Jake Bugg band. He says he has been influenced as a guitar player by many people, including Tony Iommi, Paul Kossoff, Robert Cray and Stevie Ray Vaughan………

He is also a big fan of Steely Dan, Ella Fitzgerald, Ray Charles and Billie Holliday. It would be his dream to get on stage and jam with Booker T and the MG’s…

Mark has played some memorable gigs near and far. He vividly recalls a night at the (now thankfully closed) Peggars Inn in Sneinton, Nottingham where one of the audience took off his false leg and hopped around trying to hit another customer with it !!! Also a big gig in Holland called Woetsjok ,which turned into a long and tasty jam session.

Mark is now enjoying the unique blues and rock of Fullcircle…..

Mark plays a ’71 Fender Stratocaster, and a ’76 Wine Red Gibson Les Paul through a Vintage Modern Marshall Valve Head and Marshall Cabs.

Pete
Pete has had a passion for music throughout his life and is the biggest fan of Joni Mitchell and Steely Dan.
Over the years he's been in several bands playing several different styles, from Prog Rock wannabees “Eclipse" through to Punk angry young men "Shlitz". He doesn't like to be reminded of his age, but is old enough to have shared the stage with such rock legends as Alberto y Los Trios Paranoias and Def Lepard.
He loves playing the blues, and has found the ideal band with "Fullcircle" with its awesome combination of funky rhythms, blues and rock. “There not many bands around like this one " he quips-----
Pete often surprises people with his musical connections. Jerry Dammers from the Specials bought him a pint at a gig in Coventry, Sinead O'Conner once had a bath at his house. Last year he sat next to Micky Dolenz on a flight from L.A, and he was recently spotted in a pub in Nottingham with the drummer from Prodigy......
Pete plays a custom Fender Precision Bass with Lindy Fralin pickups through an Ashdown ABM 500 combo. He also plays an Ilson Musicman Bass.

Rob
When he was a kid, Rob used to bash on his grandmother's cake tins with her knitting needles. Even from then he knew the drums were the instrument for him. Rob remembers his dad taking him to see his idol Buddy Rich at the Talk of the Midlands in Derby. “It was fantastic to watch him play” he recalls. Rob has played and gigged with many bands over the years, playing in a Jazz Funk band called ‘Nebulous’ in the eighties, and a new wave band called ‘Touch Tomorrow’. At the time Level 42 were his favourite band. Then Rob gave gigging a rest in the nineties to bring up his family, though still having an electronic kit in the spare room to practice on. More recently Rob has played Rock, Blues, Indie and Pop with covers bands ‘Pelican Alley’ and 'Mean Red Spider’, and has also spent some time writing and and recording his own material. Rob loves playing live music, whether it’s in a pub, club or party.

Rob plays a Pearl Export kit with Zildjian Cymbals; he also has a Yamaha DTXtreme 3 electronic kit which sounds amazing through a PA.

Rich
Rich is the fifth member of the band and is one of rock'n'roll's unsung heroes. You don't see him onstage because he is busy working behind the scenes to make sure Fullcircle look and sound the best. Rich is our Road Manager and looks after the band's sound and lights. As he is much stronger than the rest of us he also helps us move the gear around and makes sure Rob never runs out of coffee.
