WORLD RENOWNED SAXOPHONIST COMES TO MANSFIELD
MANSFIELD: Six time GRAMMY Award winning baritone saxophonist
Gary Smulyan performs at the Monday Night Jazz Sessions on Monday 26th
November 2012 from 7.30pm at Il Rosso Restaurant and Bar, joining old
friends the Tony Harper Quintet for one night only.
Further enhancing their reputation as the only place for jazz in Mansfield, Il Rosso hosts American jazz legend Gary Smulyan
at their regular weekly jazz night on Monday 26th November.
Gary was the winner of the baritone saxophonist of the year at the Jazz Journalists Association Jazz Awards 2012, adding to a
long line of other prestigious awards during his successful career all over the USA and Europe.
He has worked with many of the finest exponents of jazz, from Chet Baker and Ray Nance, to BB King and the Vanguard Jazz Orchestra.
Taking a break from his UK tour with the Pete Lukas Quintet, Gary is joining old friends, The Tony Harper Quintet, to perform a one off
show at the Il Rosso Restaurant and Bar, between 7.30pm and 10.30pm.
The Monday Night Jazz sessions at Il Rosso feature local, national and international stars from the world of jazz music, enabling lovers
of all forms of jazz to come together and enjoy live music in a relaxed and intimate setting.
Il Rosso in Mansfield has rightly earned its reputation as one of Nottinghamshire’s busiest restaurants, providing good food in a relaxed setting.
With regular live music and other events, this restaurant and bar has become a firm favourite with the locals. Booking is recommended
