10cc's Graham Gouldman Heart Full Of Songs

Legendary British songwriter Graham Gouldman brings his latest show to Glee Club Nottingham on Tuesday 27 May 2014.

Entitled Heart Full Of Songs the show finds the former 10cc man dipping into his extraordinary hit-filled back catalogue.

In the 1960s Gouldman penned hits for such acts as The Yardbirds (For Your Love, Heart Full Of Soul), The Hollies (Bus Stop, Look Through Any Window) and Herman's Hermits (No Milk Today), before co-forming 10cc in 1972.

10cc enjoyed a considerable run of Top 10 singles, including Donna (No 2), Art For Art’s Sake and Good Morning Judge (both reaching No 5), The Things We Do For Love and I’m Mandy Fly Me (6), and The Wall Street Shuffle (10), plus three number ones: Rubber Bullets, I’m Not In Love and Dreadlock Holiday.

It's the enduring popularity of these tracks, and Gouldman’s love of playing songs acoustically, that led him and fellow band members into opening 10cc concerts with acoustic renditions of many of these songs. The success of these appearances led to the 'unplugged' Heart Full Of Songs concept, which sees the famed songwriter joined by Take That's Musical Director Mike Stevens, and session musician and songwriter Iain Hornal.

Graham Gouldman is one of the world's leading songwriters and will this year be inducted into the National Academy of Music in New York’s prestigious Songwriter’s Hall of Fame, joining such accomplished inductees as Noel Coward, Irving Berlin, Burt Bacharach, Neil Sedaka, John Lennon, Paul McCartney, Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, Elton John, Leonard Cohen and Sting.

In a career stretching back to the mid-60s, he's penned songs for and collaborated with a vast range of artists including McFly, Kirsty MacColl, Gary Barlow, Joe Cocker, Wayne Fontana, Jeff Beck, Freddie and the Dreamers, Gene Pitney, Cher, and Manchester City FC.

10cc's Graham Gouldman Heart Full Of Songs takes place at Glee Club Nottingham on Tuesday 27 May 2014. Tickets, priced £22.50, are available now from: www.glee.co.uk/nottingham
