Some Details...
Looking like an earthy, rootsy version of White Stripes, Hat Fitz and Cara wowed the audience with their blend of pre war hill country and delta blues early Australian folk and traditional Celtic styles performed on dobro, drums and flute accompanying two amazing voices. Hat Fitz (real name Hatrick Fitzpatrick) is a larger than life character and a real live Crocodile Dundee. After falling asleep near the campfire in the Australian outback, he awoke to find himself being dragged along to the water by one of the beasts. Following a 500 mile trip to the nearest hospital his leg was saved but it was two years before he could walk properly. He cheerfully acknowledges his good fortune that it was only a 12 footer, they can grow to 20 feet long! He has also been known to race lawnmowers and was Queensland champion in this unusual sport, till he came off and you’ve guessed it, broke his other leg.
He met Cara whilst touring in Ireland and with her talents on percussion and flute added to Hat Fitz’s impressive guitar playing they had a winning combination and a dynamic live show
