FILM SCREENING, Q & A and UNPLUGGED PERFORMANCE

2015 marked Breaking Glass‘ award-winning star Hazel O’Connor’s 35th anniversary in the music industry.

Striding into the spotlight with the cult movie in 1980, she became an iconic figure. Her ageless songs from the soundtrack – ‘Eighth Day’, ‘Will You’ and ‘Big Brother’ – seem even more relevant in our present time.

Breaking Glass the album, produced by Tony Visconti and released on the classic A&M label, reached double-platinum status and stayed on the charts for 28 weeks, and still sells today. It was also nominated for BAFTA Best Film Soundtrack.

Hazel was the first woman to write, act and perform all the songs for a film. The album tour had Duran Duran as the support band.

In 2009, she was selected for the Coventry Walk of Fame. 2013 saw the release of her Hazel’s no-holds-barred autobiography Breaking Glass Barefoot. In 2014 Hazel released her latest album Here She Comes.

The live screening, Q&A and unplugged show takes place at Glee Club Nottingham on Wednesday 2nd December, Glee Club Birmingham on Sunday 6th December and Glee Club Cardiff on Monday 7th December with doors opening at 6.30pm. Tickets cost £22 and are available now from glee.co.uk or through the box office on 0871 472 0400.
