Headstock Festival 9th-11th September, Newstead
Headstock Festival is an independent quirky and eclectic music and arts festival set in the stunning 230 acre Newstead and Annesley Country Park. We set up in 2010 as a social enterprise and we’re run entirely by volunteers and musicians. We’re a not for profit group and all proceeds go directly back in to our community enterprise which runs our Country Park as well as music arts and youth projects.
ast year’s Headstock was runner up for Best New Festival at the UK Festival Awards and received rave reviews in the media and from people who came. This year we’ve grown to a two day three night celebratory event which is a key milestone in developing the beautiful country park Headstock takes place in, so thank you for being part of our journey.
As well as music there will be workshops, art installations, comedy, street theatre, burlesque and more plus real ale and cider and a range of local food stalls serving delicious home made food at reasonable prices.
Families are very welcome with a dedicated children's area - Kidstock - with puppet theatre, story telling and a range of innovative workshops and activities such as drum workshops, circus skills, jewellery making workshops and many more arts and crafts activities.
Headstock is situated just 3 miles from Junction 27 of the M1 and 10 minutes walk from Newstead Train Station. Late trains will run.
Saturday is fancy dress day - the (non compulsory) theme is Pirates and Pit Men.
This is a selection of the line-up so far. There's plenty more to be announced, including the entire "BBC Introducing" stage of up-and-coming bands.
