We will be welcoming contemporary Irish folk singer Heidi Talbot, and her new album to Glee Club Nottingham, on Friday 15th November 2013.
Talbot's gossamer voice and delicate re-working of traditional and contemporary material earned her rave reviews for her 2008 breakthrough In Love And Light. The girl from Ireland’s Co. Kildare, who spent several years in New York as a member of the Irish-American supergroup Cherish The Ladies, slips effortlessly between musical worlds but retains a personal modesty rooted in traditional folk.
Heidi's new album Angels Without Wings features Mark Knopfler, King Creosote, Jerry Douglas, Tim O’Brien, Karine Polwart, Louis Abbott (Admiral Fallow) Julie Fowlis and Boo Hewerdine, John McCusker and more.
On this live tour of Heidi's we look forward to welcoming three of the most talented musicians working on the folk scene today for a special concert. John McCusker (Heidi's husband, bandmate & producer) has wowed an audience previously at The Glee with his trio gig featuring John Doyle and Michael McGoldrick last year, whilst acoustic guitar legend Ian Carr will already be familiar to many from his time spent as guitarist in the Kate Rusby Band.
Heidi is on career best form and the new album has featured heavily in the press and UK Radio including sessions for Mark Radcliffe on Radio 2 and more.
