MARK STEEL HEADS TO GLEE CLUB NOTTINGHAM TO 'SAVE CIVILISATION'
Following his highly acclaimed BBC Radio 4 comedy show 'Mark Steel’s In Town', the writer and stand-up heads to The Glee Club on Thursday 03 March to give his unique perspective on Nottingham.
Bringing an element of the award-winning radio show to each live performance, Mark is committed to performing a routine about the history of Nottingham in order to shed light on what he sees to be the quirky and interesting aspects of the City.
"So as the armies unleashed by Tescos, chain stores and assorted call centres continue in their effort to make everywhere miserably identical," says Mark, "I come with a mission to save civilisation."
As well as the Sony Radio Academy Award and Writers' Guild of Great Britain Award winning 'Mark Steel’s In Town', Mark has presented the BAFTA nominated 'Mark Steel Lectures' for BBC2 and is a regular on BBC One’s 'Have I Got News For You' and Radio 4’s 'Newsquiz'. He has also written several books, including: 'Reasons To Be Cheerful' and 'What’s Going On', whilst writing a weekly column for The Independent.
