Some Details...
Moscow Circus were formed in Long Eaton, Derbyshire in Dec 1987. Originally called Critical Hippo, they had been together just three weeks when they did their first gig at The Garage in Nottingham in Jan 1988 supporting The Legendary Dolphins. Changing their name to Moscow Circus and then Stigmata, the band moved to Nottingham in May 1988. They did several more gigs at venues around the city before disbanding in 1989.
In Aug 1990 the band reformed as Bloodsugar. They continued to gig at venues around Nottingham such as The Narrowboat and The Newshouse before splitting in 1991.
In Jan 2008 the band reformed to play a fortieth birthday show for two of the band members. Shortly after reforming, Moscow Circus received their first ever US radio play when their song 'Princess Rainbow' (1989) was featured on a show called The 80s Underground on Radio KSCU, Santa Clara, California.
