Parasight

Some Details...

Although we had all been friends for a while, and had worked with each other on different projects, it wasn't until we were united as a band, early 2013, for a 'Rockschool'' event, that 'Parasight' was born.

The 'Rockschool' event (led by Fleet Arts), required us to write some material, perform it to an audience, and finally, record some of that material in the studio.

Since then, we have been working hard to produce an entertaining set that can be used at the various gigs that we have been fortunate enough to secure.


One of our first gigs came with just a week's notice, we were challenged by the Lead Singer of 'Airstryke' to support his band, on the condition that we dressed like KISS! Of course, we took up the challenge, and smashed it!!
Most notable to date, is the opportunity to play a short set at the Y-NOT festival, near Matlock, Derbyshire. This was a fantastic experience. We were on at 12pm on the Sunday, a time when most festival goers ought to have been flagging a little; reluctant to get out so early with such a good line-up later in the day, or making the most of a break in the weather to pack up their tents. But no, we filled 'The Allotment' tent with an appreciative crowd that were easily coaxed into the spirit of things. We seem to have made, a good many new friends at Y-NOT. Thank you all who were there.

In September 2013, we welcomed Joe to the line-up as Parasight's Bass Guitarist. He played his first gig with us in his home town, at Derby Feste. Joe has rapidly become a valued member of Parasight and his involvement complements the band perfectly. We're now a 5 piece band. Great things to come.....
