Trav Rogers and Jo Mansfield are the new Shakir!

TRAV first started out in the business when he was in his teens playing bass with The Travellers,he moved on to a band called Hay Day.In 1984 he played with a 60`s trio called Chevron which lasted right up until the birth of Shakir in 1991.
Shakir were a live 5 piece band with Trav on bass, Steve Humphries on lead guitar, Lisa Parker on vocals, Brain Gibson on drums and Pete Collier on guitar.
Trav went on to form Intense and later a trio called Embrace. In 2006 Trav put together a Meatloaf and Cher tribute with 6 piece live band called Hellringers with Sue Rogers as Cher.They also reformed Shakir.In 2008 Trav decided to try something completely different and work with a comedy band called the Space Cadets,but due to clubs no longer being able to afford big bands he decided the only thing to do would be to try the solo market!
In Nov 2008 after a meeting with Jo Mansfield, they decided maybe it was time to make a comeback!!!!so Shakir are back again...

JO has been on stage since the age of two and has been performing ever since. As a young girl Jo studied ballet, tap and modern dancing and was the lead in many local pantomimes.
Jo started working in local venue’s at 14 and has built up a fantastic reputation as a solo performer.Jo`s first duo was called Cutting Edge, she then went on to work with a trio called Chintz with Tim Saddler and Dave Bishop. Dave left to join Wicked so Jo and Tim carried on as Neworx. Jo then went through a difficult illness and went back to doing solo work for a few years.When better Jo joined local trio Natural and then went on to work with Angela as the Disco Diva`s.
In 2007 Jo and Dave Marriot put together a Motown tribute called Motown Magic which had great reviews for Jo`s vocal ability and the fantastic light show but Jo decided n Oct 2008 it was time to move on.
Jo has also been a supporting artiste for many years appearing in many programmes such as Shameless,Life on Mars,Touch of Frost and many more. Jo has also appeared in adverts for Motorpoint car show room and has had a feature role in Doctors.

SHAKIR have always been known around the clubs for playing classic soft rock songs like `Don`t Stop Believing``Hungry Eyes``Alone` and many more..
Shakir will still be playing these classics but also adding new songs including `Run``Piece Of My Heart`and many more....
