Four highly accomplished musicians make up Burden of Paradise to play an eclectic mix of soul, pop, folk and jazz. Fun, accessible and very musical with no drums, just voice, saxophone and a pulsing engine room of double bass and guitar.
The band’s unique interpretations of evocative songs from the likes of Dylan to Billie Holiday are spell-binding. Snake Davis played the sax solo on Take That’s ‘A Million Love Songs’ along with all of Lisa Stansfield and M People’s hits and was also part of the last Eurythmics WorldTour. www.burdenofparadise.co.uk
The concert is part of the Village Ventures programme co-ordinated by Nottinghamshire County Council Cultural Services (Arts) and supported by Nottinghamshire County and District Councils, Arts Council England and local volunteer promoters.
