Some Details...

The UB40 Experience are an 8 piece accurate tribute band to UK reggae giants UB40. The band aim to give the audience the true feeling of having attended a UB40 concert. Our multicultural members have been recruited from several other UB40 tribute bands .We feel we have selected each member for their individual musical talents , professionalism and sheer attention to detail in their representation of the UB40 member they are portraying .Our members have played across the world with a range of bands & music styles .We frequently have members of UB40 special guesting in our live shows, Including Legendary founding member & sax player Brian Travers, Trumpet player Laurence Parry,& Keyboard player Tony Mullins.

Our show consists of all the over 50 chart hits such as Red Red Wine, Kingston town, many rivers to cross, Food for Thought, I got you babe etc.etc. All played completely live by an 8 piece band, and featuring Rapping on songs like “Rat in mi kitchen” from our Jamaican Trombone player Everton, who is currently touring with Hollywood superstar Jamie Foxx & his band .

Our lead singer and Ali Campbell sound-alike is
A live grand finalist on UK television show “Stars in their eyes” with a viewing audience of over 12 million people.
Andy has been performing since he was 15 and a huge fan of UB40 since their debut album in 1979 ,He has studied Ali Campbell since those early days and has an uncanny ability to sound like the man ,Playing live guitar and is the focus of our show.

Keyboards & Backing vocals .
Dave has a rich history in music and is a master musician ,playing Keys,Bass,Guitar & occasionally drums in a variety of bands over the years ,Dave is our musical director & responsible for our rich harmony vocals. Loves performing live and is super talented .Also he has a namesake in the band !

Saxophone ,E.W.I. & Backing vocals
Andy has been performing since age 14 in a variety of bands from Spandau Ballet tributes, The Commitments & Blues Brothers bands for many years .Hugely influenced by UB40 sax player Brian Travers this band has given him the opportunity to play some of his all time favourite songs, and to shine on the saxophone & electric wind instrument, on songs like Kingston town, Impossible love etc. The EWI still attracts such a lot of attention as they are so unusual and seldom seen .Again creating the look & sound of UB40

Guitar & Backing Vocals

Our “rock god” guitar player, has performed in many bands, most recently a Queen tribute & a 1970’s glam rock, this is a complete change of musical direction, One of which Jeff has mastered in a flash .To re-create the look & feel of Robin Campbell.

Trumpet & Backing Vocals

Playing trumpet from age 8 ,now a teacher as well as supreme performer ,adds all important depth to the brass sound ,with solo’s a speciality & very popular with our audience when playing percussion ,or his very “English” rapping ,on the Pato Banton/UB40 classic “Baby come back.
Drums & Backing vocals

Our solid heart & backbone of the rhythm section ,& yes he also has the same name as our keys player ,an unusual twist of fate that ,Dave is our resident dreadlock Rasta ,who plays the drums ,sings backing vocals & performs the sing-along raps ,in “Red Red Wine, etc. A favourite with our large female following a true character !

Bass Guitar

The low end master, Reggae is all based around the sound of the bass, and Ant is a perfectionist in this field, the original founding member and true Birmingham lad .Formed the band to be the best & most professional UB40 tribute after many years of playing with substandard copy bands .

Our mission to play the songs as close to the original recordings, and sound and look as accurate as UB40
