How it evolved............... From around 1964 onwards, four totally unconnected guys get involved in the music business....... Over decades, between them, they cover almost every aspect of the game – touring, recording, clubs, theatres, TV, cruise ships, corporate gigs etc, etc, etc. Eventually, by chance, their paths cross........ A union is formed and their name reflects the era through which they learned their trade. “Vinyl 45” is born....
“Vinyl 45” is based in the East Midlands around the Derby/Nottingham border. The music they perform has strong roots in the post-Rock ‘n Roll pop records of the mid to late 60s and early 70s. Inspired by the ‘Lennon/McCartney era’ and the other great bands around at the time, such as The Hollies, The Small Faces, The Move, Lindisfarne, The Marmalade, and many, many more.
What possibly separates “Vinyl 45” from the rest is the very strong accent on close harmony vocals. All four members have lead vocal experience – and it shows. The line up comprises lead/rhythm, bass guitars and drums. The show is delivered professionally and designed to provide excellent visual and sound entertainment value. The modern P.A. equipment is compact but powerful and the band can provide its own lighting if required.
