James Morrison at Theatre Royal & Royal Concert HallDate: Fri 3rd Apr Time: 19:00 Friday 3 April 2009 7.00pm PRICES All Seats £21 James Morrison will embark on a 12-date UK tour for March/April 2009 following a sell out for the shows he’s due to do in November this year. Next year’s tour starts at Manchester Apollo on Friday 20th March and ends at Bournemouth BIC on Tuesday 7th April. Meanwhile James plans to release the second single Broken Strings, a belter of a duet with Canadian superstar songstress Nelly Furtado, taken from his new album Songs For You, Truths For Me. Songs For You… debuted at #3 when it was released on 29th September and has sold over 200,000 in just a few weeks. His first single from the new album You Make It Real is still in the UK Singles charts top twenty. James’ last album (also his debut) Undiscovered went straight in at Number 1 in the UK album chart in July 2006 and went on to sell over two million copies worldwide, making it one the biggest debut albums of that year. This was an awesome feat for a then unknown 21-year-old singer-songwriter from Derby. He’s since toured with Corinne Bailey-Rae and John Mayer, played alongside his hero Cat Stevens, performed at the concert for Diana (amongst other huge events), had a Top 30 album in the US and won a Brit Award for best Male in 2007 where he was nominated for three gongs. A fairytale start to anyone’s career. James’ voice has been described and praised in many different ways, by many different people, but the description that really resonates is the late Atlantic Records legend Jerry Wexler’s: ‘Above all his is a voice with its own thumbprint. Hear it once and you’ll forever recognise it.’ Theatre Royal & Royal Concert HallTheatre SquareNottingham Nottinghamshire NG1 5ND (more) Would you like to see more information about Theatre Royal & Royal Concert Hall?
