COMEDY FANS! STAND UP FOR STAND-UP COMING TO SOUTHWELL.

The sleepy Nottinghamshire town of Southwell will get a Liverpudlian shot of adrenalin when Simon Bligh takes to the stage at the opening night of a brand new comedy night in the town.

It was seeing the legendary Richard Prior in an empty Manchester cinema which made Simon realise his true calling in life.

This was after he was told he would go to hell and before he took up philosophy, Zen and leather trousers. Things could have gone a very different way.

But they didn’t and that is something an audience at Christy’s Restaurant and Coffee Shop in Hockerton will be glad of on Friday February 25th, when it launches its Magners Funhouse Comedy night.

He is one of the circuit’s most sought after acts thanks to his energetic story-telling and fast-paced comedy.

He has worked all over the world from Amsterdam to Malaysia and bagged a Time Out Comedy Award to boot.

Also on stage is the wonderfully inventive Marc Lucero whose clever and original comedy will keep the audience hanging on for more.

Compere Spiky Mike said: “This will be a great night for Southwell. These guys are great acts with bundles of energy and natural talent.”
