Splendour 2010 - Line up of top music and comedy on July 24

Nottingham's Splendour Festival, a sell out last year, is back again with an impressive line up of music and comedy that is sure to draw another great crowd.

This year's event has a mix of top music, comedy and entertainment. It is all happening in beautiful Wollaton Park, picked as one of the best spots in the Midlands for picnics in a national survey.

Organised by Nottingham City Council in association with dhp group, Splendour brings some of the best of rock and pop, acoustic, Indie and World music to the city. Alongside is the Comedy Stage and there will be a host of children's activities throughout the festival, making for one of the best family events of the summer.

* Main Stage

King of electro pop Calvin Harris will join the Pet Shop Boys on the Main Stage.

Calvin Harris seems to have spent little time out of the charts during the last few years with songs like Acceptable in the 80s and The Girls, Ready For The Weekend and You Used To Hold Me. His collaborations with international artists like Kylie Minogue and Dizzie Rascal are also top chart hits.

Indie Rock bands The Noisettes have been hot on the festival circuit and their theatrical and uninhibited live performances make them must-see bands. Indie-band Athlete, Los Angeles-based rock band OKGO and Nottingham-born singer-songwriter and producer Ronika complete the main stage line up.

* The 2nd Stage

Headlining on the 2nd Stage are Shed 7, along with Terrorvision, while kicking off the music are local acts Dog Is Dead and The Frontiers, and more acts to be confirmed.

* Comedy Stage

Dave Twentyman comperes the Comedy Stage this year, introducing talented comedians Geoff Norcott, Caimh McDonnell, Brain Damage and Krysstal, Steve Day and Andrew Bird.

* The Courtyard Stage

Now being finalised are the line-ups for the Courtyard Stage, which returns to the Wollaton Hall Courtyard again this year.

Gates at Wollaton Park open at midday and the Splendour is due to finish at approximately 11pm.

From today tickets are available at all Nottingham City Council Leisure Centres. They are also on sale at the Royal Centre box office and Rock City box office. They are also available online at: www.gigantic.com and www.alt-tickets.co.uk

Prices are:

£30 for a day ticket

£15 for a day ticket for all city-residents aged 18 and over*

£15 for 11-17 year old non-city residents

£10 for a day ticket for all city residents aged 11-17**

Under 11s go free

* City residents (living in Nottingham City Council area) can enjoy all the fun of the festival for half price. If you have a Citycard or can provide proof you're a city resident, buy your ticket at the Rock City box office or Royal Centre box office or from any Nottingham City Council leisure centre.

** City residents aged 11-17 can get a day ticket for just £10 with a Citycard 360. If you haven't got one, don't worry. Get down to the Rock City or Royal Centre box office or your local Nottingham City Council leisure centre with proof of your age and city residency and we'll sort it all out for you.

Again, we're offering young people from outside the city the chance to get a ticket for just £15 - half price!

We're delighted to announce such an impressive main stage line up and even more delighted that we're able to offer such a great value day out with City residents being able to enjoy the festival for half the price. This year's eclectic line up should offer something for everyone and don't forget we've got two other music stages too. Again, we will give local artists the opportunity to feature on the line up, so watch this space for more announcements soon."
