Welsh comedy star Rhod Gilbert will play a low-key warm-up show in Nottingham this Saturday July 31st at The Strathdon Hotel.
Gilbert, who sold out The Royal Concert Hall last year and returns there again on October 25th, has chosen the intimate 100 capacity club to prepare for a run at this summer’s Edinburgh Festival and will perform his hit theatre show, “The Cat That Looked like Nicholas Lyndhurst”.
It’s the 5th year in a row he has returned to one of the city’s Magners Funhouse clubs which are run at numerous venues in the area including Bunkers Hill and The Maze by Nottingham comedian Spiky Mike, who said, “This is a massive privilege for us to get Rhod back again as he mainly only plays huge venues now.”
Following countless TV appearances on shows such as Mock The Week, Live At The Apollo and Never Mind The Buzzcocks he has rapidly become one of the country’s premier stand-ups.
