from LA, Kristina Olsen is one of the most entertaining and compelling performers on the international folk circuit. A fine instrumentalist (guitar, steel-body slide guitar, saxophone, concertina and piano) as well as a powerful songwriter with a big bluesy voice. her mix of strong songs, some jazz-inspired sounds and powerful bottleneck blues (as well as her hilarious storytelling) makes for a diverse and satisfying musical experience.
Described by Steeleye Span’s Maddy Prior as “A joy to watch and hear ”Kristina has performed at most of the major folk festivals in the UK including Cropredy,
Sidmouth and Towersey in the UK and many in Australia and the USA.

She visits on the 17th November and will be supported by Fay Brotherhood the winner of the open mic at this year’s Gate to Southwell Folk Festival. A student at nearby Brackenhurst College she has a crystal clear voice and an assured stage presence.
