Saint Saviour (real name Becky Jones) has announced a new single, "Tightrope" and autumn tour. Released on 5th November, it is the second single to be taken from Union, her captivating debut album, which led critics to proclaim Jones as "fiercely original" (Sunday Times Culture), and favourable comparisons to Fever Ray, Goldfrapp and Marc Almond, the latter himself calling the album "beautiful, brilliant!". New single "Tightrope" sees Saint Saviour in confessional mode, its sparse instrumentation providing a shimmering foil to her powerful voice and heart-wrenching lyrics. The Quietus said it best when they declared of the track, "(It’s) impossible not to slide clean off your chair into an emotional goo on the floor." You can hear it here:

Perhaps best known, until now, as co-writer and de facto front woman for Groove Armada, Stockton-on-Tees born Jones took her traditional music background and harnessed it to a burgeoning love of electro and production skills, inspired by the works of Factory Records and the seminal producer Martin Hannett. Despite her busy schedule preparing for her upcoming UK tour, she’s found time to hone these skills, collaborating on new tracks with Kissy Sell Out, Punks Jump Up and Maribou State, which will be released in the coming months.
