Mike Marlin who is supporting Huey Morgan on tour this March and is coming to the Nottingham Rescue Rooms on the 15th March.

Born in London in the early 60's he was a bit of a child prodigy and won a physics scholarship to Oxford when he was 17. He dropped out in his 3rd year.

He started working in the backroom of a small broking business and they happened to have a very early personal computer. Motivated by laziness and boredom, he read the manual and programmed it so it automated his job.

He accidentally created the ability to analyse and measure systematic trading strategies (basically he stumbled across a great way of buying and selling in the financial markets) so he started his own technology company and for the next 25 years he rewrote the rules on technology in the markets.

In 2008 he quit to return to his first love - Music. Whilst at oxford he went to endless gigs: Elvis Costelloe, Graham Parker, Eddie & The Hot Rods, Dr Feelgood and just about every R'N'B band going. He also saw the Undertones first ever London show and the first splutterings of Punk.

He started touring with the likes of The Stranglers and has been winning fans for his haunting, addictive vocal delivery, reminiscent of leonard Cohen and Lou Reed and with his new album 'The Grand Reveal' ready for a release this April things are certainly shaping up for the guy.
