The most extravagant variety show Nottingham has ever seen - The Gilded Merkin - is making a welcome return to Glee Club Nottingham, Sunday 12th May 2013. Featuring the very best international acts. Dress to impress and join the fun for an evening of glamour, comedy, music and more!

The star performers for this extravaganza are headed up by Lada Redstar - if pin-ups were originally drawn as caricatures of ideal women, Lada Redstar proves that the archetype is alive and well. With elegant aesthetic performances inspired by the heyday of American Burlesque of the 1940s, Lada Redstar offers her very personal vision of seduction and charm.

There will also be the exquisite Laurie Hagen, who has performed at venues such as The Savoy, The Royal Albert Hall and Madame Jojo's. She is shortlisted for the Best Burlesque London Cabaret Awards 2013 and is described by The Londonist as "The best thing to come out of Belgium since Plastic Bertrand". Audacity Chutzpah - "one of the funniest and most endearing performers on the burlesque scene"(Time Out) has performed her unique brand of clown-burlesque on stages across the UK and Europe to great acclaim! Cat Aclysmic will also be there to work visions of the past into a vivid modern mix of circus, fire, and cabaret/burlesque, where anything can happen and everything does.

Also featuring gravity defying daredevil stuntman AJ James! AJ has represented Britain as part of a gymnastics display team, won martial arts tournaments and was a sponsored extreme sports performer. He has performed at festivals all over the world, been a stunt performer for film and television, and a stand up comedian. His careers advisor said he should join the SAS or the circus. He tried the circus first.

Bringing his own unique brand of "bearlesque" to the stage, Fred Bear delivers plenty of big, hairy, tongue in cheek antics. This compère extraordinare will have you singing your hearts out and rolling in the aisles.

All overseen by Miss Scarlett Daggers. A burlesque performer and fire eater, Scarlett is the flame haired, tattooed vixen behind the Gilded Merkin. Described as "one of the gems of the British burlesque scene" she is known for her unique signature acts and is a regular feature in the nations biggest and best shows.
