US Americana singer-songwriter Mindy Smith, and her band will be heading to Glee Club Nottingham, on Sunday 7th July.

The world got its first introduction to Mindy Smith nearly a decade ago, when she won over Dolly Parton lovers with an elegantly pleading cover of 'Jolene'. Her debut album One Moment More went on to earn numerous critical accolades, featured the hit single 'Come to Jesus' and sold over 300,000 copies.

Mindy has since released albums Long Island Shores and Stupid Love in 2006 and 2009 respectively. Her latest offering Mindy Smith shows a progression in her artistry, fittingly self-titled and her first truly independent album.

Her music has been featured on many TV shows including Grey's Anatomy, Six Feet Under, Smallville and Summerland.

'Her music can be classified as folk, country, Americana, bluegrass, pop, rock, and even alternative. Her voice and musical sound have been compared to that of Shawn Colvin, Patty Griffin, Norah Jones, and Alison Krauss' - BBC
