DHP Family Bring Bugg to the Arena for New Date on 2014 UK Tour

Hometown fans of music superstar Jake Bugg have been given a chance to see their hero thanks to local promoter DHP Family which has announced a show at the Nottingham Capital FM Arena on Thursday, 20th February 2014.

Until now Bugg’s UK tour in February 2014 had no gigs in Nottingham even though the singer-songwriter was brought up on the city’s Clifton estate.

All the other venues, which include Edinburgh, Manchester, Newcastle and a night at London’s Royal Albert Hall, sold out within 2 hours of their announcement last week. The Nottingham show is the only remaining chance for fans to see Bugg on this tour.

Anton Lockwood, Promotions Director at DHP Family said: “We’re delighted to be welcoming Jake Bugg to the Capital FM Arena in Nottingham. Following on from the triumphant headline performance at Splendour Festival, it will be fantastic to see Jake headline the city’s biggest venue. DHP are very proud to have been part of the story that’s seen him develop from acoustic sets at Rescue Rooms all the way to the Arena. We’re sure this will sell out so be quick to guarantee your place!”

Ben Ryles, DHP’s ‘Rescue Rooms’ promoter at the time, remembers booking Jake for that first gig: “It was late 2009. He was 15, so I had to accompany him and make sure he didn't drink anything alcoholic! It was obvious even then that he was an incredible talent.”

The Nottingham born singer-songwriter, recently released a Shane Meadows directed video for his new single 'Slumville Sunrise' and will release his second album, 'Shangri La', on November 18. The follow-up to last year's self-titled debut is named after producer Rick Rubin's Malibu studio, where the 19-year-old singer-songwriter recorded the album.
