These Wicked Rivers at Manor Health and Racquets ClubDate: Sat 5th Sep Time: 20:00 The great news for rock fans, live music lovers and aspiring musicians in and around Ilkeston, is that the band will be playing at The Manor on Friday 9th October and put simply; this will be a great night and one show not to miss! From Derby, the band comprises of John Hartwell - Lead Vocals and Rhythm Guitar, Arran Day - Lead Guitar and Backing Vocals, Jon Hallam – Bass, Dan Southall – Drums. Collectively influenced by the likes of John Mayer, Rival Sons, Joe Bonamassa, Marcus Bonfanti, Black Stone Cherry and Royal Blood, These Wicked Rivers love writing huge sounding riffs and combining them with epic guitar solos! Fusing the classic rock sounds of Cream with modern blues riffs akin to Joe Bonamassa and John Mayer, they have rapidly developed a cult following in the East Midlands and with their solid collection of self composed material and marrying old-school musicianship with a youthful intensity, they have brought old-style blues rock into the twenty first century! Since the release of their debut EP only six weeks ago, “The Enemy” has and is still being featured on airways/online websites throughout the UK and judging by the comments being made, it’s clearly causing a big stir in the music scene: Raw Ramp - Cock Devil Masculinity for Fans of Bonamassa! Dr Johns Rock Show – I love it! TMR TV Channel – These Guys Sound great! My Random Jukebox - I love their sound! EGH Radio – I love Lady Killer! Twisted Mixtape – Fantastic Tracks! Armed with a dynamic mix of material, the band are determined to leave their own mark on the music scene and are currently showcasing their awesome sound and considerable talent with appearances at numerous music events across the UK. But if you believe that actions do in fact speak louder than words, then look no further; here is the hard evidence at https://soundcloud.com/thesewickedrivers/01-ladykiller showcasing the band playing a very classy and muscular riff-driven rock number! There is more than one reason why people should try and make it to The Manor on 9th October though................once 80 tickets have been sold, all revenue from further ticket sales will be donated to Prostate Cancer UK, a charity the club is supporting this year.
