The Chesterfield Marathon Party in the Park at Queens ParkDate: Sun 2nd Oct Time: 14:00 The Chesterfield Marathon Party in the Park Sunday 2nd October 2016 Chesterfield is home to an epic fundraising initiative organised and managed by Kids n Cancer UK – a leading charity in aiding sick children and their families receive proton therapy. The Chesterfield & Derbyshire Marathon & Party in the Park takes place on Sunday 2nd October, Queens Park, Chesterfield S40 2BF. Once the marathon is over Chesterfield celebrates in style with live music, drinking and dancing through till dusk. Previous years have seen hundreds of people turn out to support the event and this year we anticipate the crowds to be even bigger – as local bands, singers and talent step up and support Kids n Cancer UK in their efforts to give sick children the best possible chance of a happy, healthy life! Opening the event at approx. 2pm is east Midlands band The Mocking Jays http://mockingjaysband.com setting the standards high as the afternoon unfolds with singing from Alex Wallhead, Leanne Paige, Chris Heathcote to name just a few!! The Mocking Jays will return and do a final set around 6pm followed by Traitors who will bring the event to an explosive end at approx. 8pm. The day will include a fun fair, kids inflatable slides and activities, rodeo bull, sumo wrestlers, face painting, hair braiding, henna tattoos, festival stalls, Four One Three Bar, Pigeon Fisheries Brewery, lots of different food available and lots lots more to keep everyone entertained creating those special memories surrounded by family and friends.
