Their sound is tight, funky and Indie style with songs written by themselves which will be featured on the release of their forthcoming EP Their sound varies from catchy, poppy hooks that stick in your head for days, to surging, powerful grooves that make you move your feet. The band have been booked for some great gigs over the summer including council events, riverside festivals, beer festivals and major pop festivals around the country including getting the winning public vote to appear at this years Y Not? Festival. For 2017 they have already been booked to appear at The Rock & Bike Festival National and local radio have featured the band in interviews and live music sessions and with a busy schedule of live gigs they can be seen at a venue near you soon. With rave reviews for their EP, Stealing Fire, along with Record of the Day’s “the best unsigned band we saw live at The Great Escape”, they played packed out stages at Glastonbury and Bestival and had their first TV feature (of their “When We Were Young” video) on Channel 4’s Sunday Brunch. Continuing the upward trajectory, 2016 opened with “When We Were Young” featured as “Shock of the New” on Radio X as the band finished golden song-writing sessions while recording and mixing on the South Coast THE IDOLINS The Idolins are a Nottingham based folk / acoustic pop act who’s sound is built around the beautiful and heartfelt storytelling of Karen Smalley, delivered by ear-catching vocals and finely laced harmonies, across an evocative, melodic musical mix of slithering strings and iridescent percussion.
