Fickle Friends at Rescue RoomsDate: Wed 25th Oct Time: 20:00 “Fickle Friends are on the pathway to pop perfection” NME “A sparkling slab of indie-pop” Noisey “Tinkling, bass-popping, summer-de ning perfection” Sunday Times Culture “Disco guitar, eighties gloss and instantly hummable choruses” Evening Standard “Fickle Friends make excellent indie pop with grooves galore” Stereogum Fickle Friends return with ‘Glue’ – their biggest and boldest statement to date, due for release on Polydor today. Led by striking front woman Natti Shiner, Fickle Friends have spent the last 18 months releasing a string of brilliant singles including ‘Swim’, ‘Brooklyn’ and the most recent Radio 1 playlisted ‘Hello Hello’. They have now amassed over 15 million streams on Spotify and claimed high praise from fans and critics in all corners. Introducing the track Natti said “After signing we ended up doing a bunch of obligatory writing sessions and nothing came from them... the more we got asked to do them, the more frustrated we became. In the end we were like ‘GAH WE CAN WRITE OUR OWN POP TUNE”. So the day after another fruitless writing session we literally wrote and produced ‘Glue' in one afternoon in Jack’s bedroom. I imagined the times I’ve been out (and inebriated) and thinking that I've fallen in love with someone after only 5 minutes of talking to them at the bar...so I wrote a song about it.” ‘Glue’, which was produced by the band and mixed by Mark Ralph (Years & Years, Hot Chip, Clean Bandit), is the next chapter in their story. A feel-good, sun-drenched synth-pop tribute to that person you’re inescapably stuck to. Listen to ‘Glue’ HERE Fickle Friends are currently amidst a summer packed full of festivals. The list includes Community Festival in Finsbury Park, Secret Garden and Reading & Leeds at the end of the summer.
