Calypso Christmas at Castle Inn

Pure Steel Band consists of anything from 2 to 25 players, who perform in various settings around the UK and abroad. They rehearse in Mansfield once a week where they are supported by Inspire Youth Arts. Pure Steel have an extensive repertoire which means they can create the party atmosphere of a carnival or present a formal concert in a professional capacity. From weddings, birthdays, carnivals, Caribbean nights, corporate events to music festivals, the band have and do perform regularly at these types of events.

The band was founded in 2002 by myself, Nicola Coker, as a music teacher at Heanor Gate Science College. It currently consists of players from both Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire that range in age from 11-21.

Over the years the band have performed at numerous events both locally and internationally. We are very proud to have played at Disneyland Paris as well as various towns surrounding Lake Garda, Italy during several summer tours.
