We have been expecting you for some time” Living amongst the ancient woodland of Sherwood Forest, young Robin Hood has to quickly deal with the pain and injustice served by the wicked Sheriff of Nottingham. Accompanied by Friar Tuck, Little John, Marion and others, Robin becomes the warrior leader of the Outcasts, determined to bring good King Richard back to the English throne and to triumph over the evil Sheriff. The Theatre Royal and the Royal Company present this brand new stage adaptation of Nottingham’s legendary outlaw. Full of drama, comedy, romance and adventure, Robin of Sherwood will offer great family entertainment. Former children’s laureate, Michael Morpurgo is one of the most respected and prolific writers for children. His 1982 novel War Horse has been the recent smash hit success at the National Theatre. The Royal Company is the Royal Centre’s community theatre initiative, enabling some of the best local talent to produce top quality work, following intensive professional direction and support. Previous productions include The Mysteries, The Hundred and One Dalmatians and Revolting Rhymes. Peter Duncan is best known for TV's 'Blue Peter' and 'Duncan Dares'. His extensive theatre credits include the title roles in 'Fantastic Mr Fox' and 'Barnum'. He also received and Olivier nomination for his performance in 'The Card'.
