AN EVENING WITH JIMMY GREAVES

Jimmy Greaves was probably the greatest English goalscorer of all time. In total he scored 452 goals, 357 of these in his 516 first division games and another 44 in 57 appearances for England. This is a phenomenal record and we will probably never see his like again.

Jimmy turns up in Newark tonight for his theatre show at the Palace, along with his great friend and agent Terry Baker in the role of compere and a very special surprise guest, usually picked from ex-stars like Ron 'Chopper' Harris, Steve Perryman, Martin Chivers, Ricardo Villa, Cliff Jones, Dave MacKay, Bobby Smith or Pat Jennings.

It's a great show for football fans everywhere. Jimmy's superb comic timing is at the forefront of the whole evening as he relates some of the amusing anecdotes from his life as an after dinner speaker, TV personality and truly great footballer, heavily laced with adult-orientated humour. In the second half a lucky few from the audience get a chance to ask questions and after the show Jimmy and his guest appear to sign photographs, shirts and books that are available throughout the evening.
