THE FIRST MONDAY OF EVERY MONTH MUSIC AUCTION - an auction of anything related to music from CD's to instruments.

STARTING MAY 18TH EVERY MONDAY POKER NIGHTS 7PM

The Travellers Rest is situated in the large village of Draycott surrounded by countryside but within easy reach of Derby, Long Eaton and Nottingham using the A6005. It is also situated handily between junctions 24 & 25 of the M1 and is only about 10 minutes drive from both.

The Travs' has developed quite a name for itself as a live music venue having an open mic night every Tuesday, acoustic live lounge every Wednesday and covers artists every Saturday. Our acoustic live lounge is especially good because it allows you to get up close to both UK based and International artists in a small intimate venue. ALL MUSIC IS FREE ENTRY. Continuing the music theme we have karaoke on first Friday of every month and Chippy Deans famous soul & motown disco on the second Friday monthly. So all in all if you want a good night out the Travs' is the place to come.

Real Ales

We currently have 4 permanent real ales; Pedigree, Theakstons Best, Deuchars IPA and Theakstons Old Peculiar as well as one other guest beer. We welcome reviews by CAMRA members and any feed back to both ourselves and CAMRA will be gratefully recieved. We would like to get into the good beer guide and any assistance you can give will help immensely. Both Jackie & Kev are CAMRA members and pride ourselves on our good quality beer.

Draycott can boast its’ own art gallery The “Beetle Gallery” and now its’ newly opened international standard table tennis center, believed to be only the third center of its’ size in the UK.

Draycott is ideally suited to ramblers and cyclists being in the middle of many cycling (especially National cycle route no.6) and walking routes and close to the river Derwent and we even have our own walking group; The Draycott Hoofers starting from the pub every 1st Sunday of the month ably lead by Phil Eaton (meet 10pm). It even has its' own old canal path which the local canal society are trying to restore to its' former glory.

The Trav’s is a smart Victorian built pub with a sister pub at Sawley, The Railway. Kevin and Jackie have tried to keep the old Victorian ambience although with a modern touch. We have 2 real coal fires one in the lounge and one in the bar making the establishment nice and cosy. Kev & Jackie have recently joined CAMRA so if any memebers out there want to come in and vet us please feel free; any reports back to CAMRA are most welcome, we normally have at least three real ales on including Pedigree, Theakstons and a guest ale.

Draycott Hoofers a walking group just started by Phil Heaton are meeting here the first Sunday of every month to do a local walk. Anyone interested just turn up for a 10.30AM start (ensure you have proper walking gear please). Draycott is ideally situated for walking as well as being the center point for many of the National Cycling routes, and hopefully it wont be long before the old canal is restored too.

The pub itself is divided up into 5 areas as follows:-

The Lounge
With its’ coal fire, carpet throughout, large bay window and photographs of the surrounding area make it a cosy place to sit and relax. Home from home.

The Passage
A favourite place to congregate; the passage has original Victorian tiles, it’s own bar and also houses the notice board. The passage is also home to the cash and games machines. A small LCD television is also available in the passage.

The Pool Room
A wooden floored room and as the name suggests hosts the pool table upon which you can enjoy free pool on Mondays. The room also houses the jukebox with its’ varied selection of music from classic rock through motown, modern and rock n’ roll; it is sure to cater to most tastes. The music from the jukebox can be heard in the bar, dart room and pool rooms only, the lounge being the quiet room. A television is also situated in the corner of the pool room. We have a pool team and are always on the lookout for new members.

The Dart Room
The dart room doubles up as our small function, meeting or conference room holding approximately 35 people (food, tea and coffee can be supplied). The dart board is positioned centrally and has easy access, competitions from the Long Eaton Darts League cup matches are held here as a preferred venue due to the space offered. We are also recruiting members to our mixed dart team and we usually play on a Wednesday night. It has its’ own servery and television. Adorning the walls are photos’ of previous village football teams, which are of great interest to our locals who like to play spot the family member.

FOOD

Although we do not have a food offering at present we do have a selection of crisps, nuts and pepperami to tempt you with. We can however cater for fuctions.
